Must be a current UT student to redeem. One t-shirt per student.
ELIGIBILITY RULES
Â
1. Participants must be currently enrolled as a UT Austin degree-seeking student.
Â
2. Participants must show a valid UT Austin student ID or virtual ID.
Â
3. Scholarship athletes are not eligible. Athletic scholarship men or women shall be defined as UT Austin students whose names appear on the official athletic scholarship list in the Office of the Athletic Directors at the time of the contest.
Â
4. Previous winners are not eligible to receive another award.
Â
5. RecSports reserves the right to verify the identity and/or eligibility of all participants and/or the winner.
Â
6. RecSports staff will be the sole judges and decision-makers regarding participant eligibility and any interpretations.
AWARD RULES
Â
1. Two awards (one male and one female recipient) will be given for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Â
2. Each award is valued at $2,500.00. Award may be subject to taxes.
Â
3. Additionally, UFCU is sponsoring a $500 award for each male and female first place winner. This award will be issued by UFCU via direct deposit.Â

4. Award is non-transferable.

OFFICIAL EVENT RULES
Preliminary Rounds
Â
1. To register, eligible participants will present their UT ID and/or UT EID to event staff. Each participant will attempt one (1) round of three (3) basketball shots 20 feet from the basket. Contestants may take as many rounds as desired during the qualification period, held from 11am until 3pm. Each contestant who makes at least one shot in the preliminary round will automatically qualify for the final round and will be given a wristband. Qualifying participants must return for the final round at 3pm wearing their wristband.

2. For a shot attempt to be valid:
a The shooter must have at least one foot on the ground behind the    line prior to the attempt.
 Â
b. The shooter may not be touching the line or ground beyond the     line.
c. The shooter may contact the line or land on the ground beyond   Â
the line only after the ball is released.Â
Â
3. Only basketballs provided by Recreational Sports may be used. Females will be allowed to use the official women’s basketball.

4. RecSports staff will be the sole judges and final decision-makers regarding any rules questions.

Final Round
Â
1. Each successful preliminary round contestant will take one (1) attempt at a basketball shot 40 feet from the basket. If all contestants fail at the 40-foot distance, the distance will be shortened to 30 feet, and then 20 feet and 15 feet as needed until a shot is made. If more than one contestant makes the designated shot from 40 feet, a shoot off will be held from a distance of 20 feet. A winner is determined when only one participant remains with a made basket at the designated distance.

2. The final round will begin promptly at 3pm. Contestants must be present for the final round with their wristband to compete for the award.
